We are based in Warminster in South West Wiltshire but can travel anywhere within a 50 mile radius of the town to meet you where you are. See the Contacts page for further directions about how to get in touch. We hope to hear from you soon.
LATEST NEWS:
Since the lockdowns that occurred as a result of the Covid pandemic, both Glenys and Trevor have spent much more time working from home, and this has changed the way that New Directions now operates. Trevor has added online and telephone counselling to his methods of delivering therapy, and this has widened the geographic catchment area for potential clients. Whilst face-to-face, in-the-room work is still the preferred option for delivering counselling, working via video call does allow for clients to access counselling more easily, as it cuts out the time and cost of travelling to Warminster.
Other recent developments have been Glenys retiring from daily social work, but offering consultation and supervision to other Social Workers - see her page for more details - and Trevor taking on the management of a small counselling service in Warminster, offered as part of the agency called Cornerstone. He also has a regular teaching role with Heartwood Counselling and Psychotherapy whereby he heads off to London one weekend per month to deliver a Level 4 equivalent course in Integrative Counselling. In September 2024 this will change to 2 weekends per month as he will then deliver a Level 6 course in Counselling Supervision.
Trevor is currently awaiting heart surgery to repair a leaky valve, so he is slowing down in preaparation for that operation, which is likely to happen sometime in late spring / early summer of 2024. As a result of this he is not going to be taking on new clients from March 1st, just to avoid having to start therapay or supervision with a client, and then take time out half way through. The rehab period after the op is 3 months, so all being well normal service will be resumed by late summer. Fingers crossed...
